Presenter, Peter Cartwright

The Legendary Ten Seconds have launched an album of songs about Devon featuring Riviera FM’s very own Presenter, Peter Cartwright.  In February 2021 Ian Churchward of the Torbay band the Legendary Ten seconds contacted Riviera FM asking them to consider playing a song from their album – Songs About Torbay.

Station Managing Director, Martin Foster

Managing Director Martin Foster passed this to Peter Cartwright who regularly features local artists and interviews them on his Friday show Good Morning South Devon.  Peter was amazed by the depth and knowledge of history of the band, the local nature of the songs. The band fitted so well with Riviera FM he featured one of the songs on his show.

More songs were submitted and at the end of February Peter interviewed Ian on his show learning how the band acquired their name and of the inspiration of the songs and Ian’s music playing history, residents of Torbay may remember Ian playing in a band called the Morrisons.  Ian created some jingles for Peter’s show and in April Ian had the idea for his next album to have songs introduced by Peter as if they were being played on his radio show, as Ian liked the way that Peter introduced his songs on his show.

Martyn Hillstead

Over the summer Ian worked on his new Album Songs about Devon in July Peter recorded the intros, the result of this is an album being released in October this year of Songs about Devon including songs such as Postcards of Torquay, Tar Barrels, Brixham Mayflower.  The Legendary Ten Seconds features Ian Churchward, Bridgit England, Martyn Hillstead and Lord Zarquon.
