Riviera FM is a community radio station setup to broadcast to the community of Torbay and surrounding districts in South Devon. Riviera FM currently broadcasts on 107.9FM as well as online at www.riviera.fm and via many different web platforms such as mobile apps, smart devices and radio directories.

Riviera FM is operated and entirely owned by Riviera FM Ltd. Riviera FM Ltd is a company setup as a not for profit organisation and is limited by guarantee.

Riviera FM launched online in 2010 and started broadcasting on FM radio in April 2020. Riviera FM is licenced and regulated by Ofcom. Our licence number is CR102117BA/1

Riviera FM is Licenced by PPL and PRS to broadcast music legally.

Riviera FM is bound by our licence to deliver key commitments to the community via our broadcast service. More details of our key commitments can be found on the Ofcom website.

NEWS, WEATHER & TRAVEL

Riviera FM currently broadcasts a national news bulletin on the hour every hour 24 hours-a-day. The news bulletin is supplied externally by Radio News Hub.

Local news bulletins are to be introduced hourly during daytime hours. These bulletins will be produced by Riviera FM volunteers.

Local weather is broadcast at the top of the hour and produced by Riviera FM volunteers.

Traffic & travel news is broadcast at peak travel times on our breakfast show and drivetime shows as well as at times when local incidents happen.

PROGRAMMING

All programming broadcast on Riviera FM is created for initial broadcast by Riviera FM. We aim to broadcast all shows from our purpose-built studios in Torquay. Some specialist programs may be recorded externally and some presenters will work externally occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances.

Some elements of shows maybe pre-recorded in advance of broadcast.

MUSIC POLICY

Riviera FM plays a wide variety of music from the 1950s to present day covering multiple genres and tastes. During the daytime we like to play a selection of mainstream and popular music from across the decades. During the evening and at weekends, we have a selection of specialist music shows to cover most eclectic tastes.

Riviera FM is bound to the broadcasting code of practice which is published by Ofcom. More details can be found on the Ofcom website. We strive to meet and exceed the standards of the broadcasting code and our key commitments. However, if you don’t think we are achieving this please get in contact with the management team in the first instance.

REPORTING
