Yesterday 4th February saw internationally renowned ‘CJ’ perform the amazing ‘MJ Legacy Tour’ at Babbacombe Theatre Torquay. ‘MJ THE LEGACY’ is an exceptionally authentic, world class Tribute to Michael Jackson! The outstanding production is said to be the closest thing to seeing a live Michael Jackson show, presenting an immersive theatrical experience actively engaging its audience with stunning effects and choreography from start to finish whilst recreating the music and live performances of one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
‘MJ The Legacy’ – Starring ‘CJ’ truly captures the electrifying energy of Michael’s live performances which amazed the world for decades, bringing together superb musicians and dancers, stunning costumes, incredible live vocals and all the iconic dance routines associated so fondly with the undisputed ‘King of Pop’.
The show included some of Michael Jackson’s later pieces of music, including ‘Thriller’, ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Smooth Criminal’ and ‘Man In The Mirror’ to name but a few. It also took the audience on a trip back through time to the 60’s and featured a complete set of songs from The Jackson 5 founded in 1964 in Gary, Indiana, by Joe Jackson, as well as by brothers Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine, with younger brothers Marlon and Michael joining soon after. The Jackson 5 performed in talent shows and clubs on the Chitlin’ Circuit, then signed with Steeltown Records in 1967 and released two singles.
The audience were left astounded by the recreation of this iconic 60’s era of Jackson’s music career, which included period costumes and dancers which brought the section of the show to a whole new level. Audience members said “Best Michael Jackson tribute artist I’ve seen, first saw CJ’s tribute to Michael Jackson at the king and queens show at Blackpool last year amazing show”, “Amazing show thank you”, “This guy is so worth seeing!”.
The atmosphere was electric with the entire theatre on their feet singing and dancing along. A clear sign that The English Riviera’s hospitality and entertainment sector is on the road to recovery, with people out enjoying themselves and the feeling that a degree of normality is returning to our world class holiday resort, which attracts people from all around the globe all year round.
