About Me: Originally from West London, moved to Milton Keynes with my job in the 80’s, lived there until last year when I retired and moved to Devon with my wife and our dog. I am enjoying the Devon lifestyle, and have taken up running with a run club to keep fit and meet people, I enjoy the countryside, and a fan of local music, there are so many great bands and artists in the bay. Supporter of the RNLI and the amazing volunteers that work for them.
Passion: My Wife, Music, Local Bands, Good Food and drink, Running.
Favourite Music/Artists: Early years – late 70’s my older cousin was a great fan of David Bowie and Bryan Ferry so I was influenced towards these, we saw Bowie on his Stage tour when I was fifteen. I then spent the early 80’s seeing Heavy Metal bands at Hammersmith Oden, and then was in to mid 80’s synth pop bands, regularly going to the Camden Palace. After starting with a heavy music taste, I’ve always been a great fan of the Jam and like the Mod and Ska bands, so having the Simmertones as our local biggest band is fantastic.
Hobbies: Music, Running Walking the dog and Music, play the Piano and sing… but not in public. Going out for meals and seeing bands, planning to take up more water based activity now I’m in the Bay.
Favourite Things: Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kitten’s –sorry, – it’s Wife –Dog –Beer – Music.
The Friday Daytime live show has regular guests from around the bay who are doing great things for our local community, and the RNLI are guests on the last Friday of each month talking about the latest RNLI activities and the events they have planned and some of the behind the scenes information on rescues you might not know.
First half hour is for guests, the local events, local theatre and a classic track where you may learn a little more about how a favourite track came about. Look at celebrity birthdays and play songs related to these topics. I try to be a corny/obvious in my song choices as I can e.g. RNLI = The Lifeboat Party by Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
The first half of the second hour is for new releases. Thursday midnight is the release date for many songs as the charts run Friday to Friday, so hear the latest songs here first we only play the best ones.
Final half hour is the local gig guide and songs from local musicians. There is so much talent in the bay it’s easy to fill this half hour with great songs.
