Mave Swainson
About Me: I was born in Bournemouth and grew up in a home full of music and laughter. My father was a bandsmen with the fire service brass band, and my mother was a professional singer on the radio. From the age of 3, I studied dance and drama. The drama led me to appear with Harold Pinter in repertory. I also learnt to ice skate and when I was 17 turned professional and appeared in many ” Ice Follies ” productions. During this time I also worked in Pantomime playing principal boy, and Cabaret with artist like Ted Rogers, Lonnie Donnegan, Barron Knights , Arthur Askey and Dickie Henderson to mention a few. I was fortunate to appear in many television productions in cameo roles , including Tenko , Two Ronnies, Only Fools and Horses and Worzel Gummidge. I choreographed some children’s series , and also appeared in many commercials . I moved to Torquay last year and discovered Riveria FM and was invited to take the training course . I am now a co presenter on the show with Fran and enjoying every minute of it .
Passions: Going to the theatre and cuddling cats.
Favourite Music/Artists: Tchaikovsky through to Soul, Marvin Gaye, Bee Gees, Adele, Abba, George Ezra, Sam Smith…… the list goes on.
Hobbies: My hobbies are visiting National Trust property’s , playing the keyboard, and travelling.
Favourite Things: Watching the grandchildren grow up, and spending time with my husband.
