About Me: I was born and bred in Manchester and I am definitely a Lancashire Lass! I moved to Cheshire after I married and then to Torbay over 20 years ago. I worked in The Bibliographical Services Unit for Stockport Libraries. I spent 16 years singing in a ladies barbershop chorus, we were British champions and one of the highlights was singing at the Barbican in London alongside the King Singers, which was fantastic. I now sing with the Big Noise Chorus Torquay, we sing rock, pop etc and it’s a great feeling when it all comes together. I was a Samaritan in Torbay for eight years and also a New Samaritan trainer and mentor. I think it’s very important that people talk openly about their thoughts and feelings and I found the work very rewarding. I try to use my experience with them when we interview guests on Riviera FM. I am Producer and Co-presenter on the Recovery Show with Dave Evitts and I’m also on the Hobbies Show with Mike Webster.
Passions: I’m passionate about local history and I’m a volunteer steward at Brixham Heritage Museum and also a volunteer on the Brixham Heritage Trawler Pilgrim BM45. I also do research into local and family history.
Favourite Music/Artists: I like music from all eras, but I particularly love the sixties and seventies. I love Elvis, Elton John, Queen, The Beatles, ABBA, The Kinks etc and harmony groups like the Beach Boys.
Hobbies: I’m an avid reader and enjoy singing in choirs.
Favourite Things: I love walking around our beautiful bay and going to our local cinema and theatre.
