Dave Perry
Born and raised in Torquay, I left the area at 18, as an ambitious and somewhat wild young man, to pursue a career in art, television and publishing. Over the years I was fortunate enough to have presented, co-presented and featured on a large number of shows for Channel 4, Sky One, ITV and BBC 2, along with being one of the creators of the now legendary GamesMaster TV show. As a journalist I have also written for, edited and published a vast number of magazines during a long 35 year editorial career, which has stretched across a large range of subjects. These titles have included among them DVD Monthly, Play, Diesel Car and Tattoo Master. Although I think my proudest moment was probably that of being voted one of Britain’s 50 most eligible bachelors in 1996 by the readers of Company Magazine. Well, what man wouldn’t enjoy that? However, at the end of the 90s I returned to the bay, and my last TV work was to be for QVC in 2001, after which I decided to leave television completely and concentrate on raising my daughter here in the West Country. And so, with this in mind, in 2007, I returned to my home town of Torquay and opened my Tattoo studio… Revolver on Market Street, were I have happily worked ever since. Throughout the years though, music has always been a massive love of mine, particularly the darker music of the late 70s and early 80s. So, in 2023, feeling the urge to broadcast once again, I was delighted when Riviera FM offered me my own show, the Dave Cave, and it is a sheer joy to have the opportunity to connect with an audience once again, and in doing so, to be able share the music I love. Passions: Family, my dog, Tattooing, Broadcasting Favourite Music/Artists: The Beatles, Nirvana, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Marilyn Manson, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, Adam and the Ants Hobbies: Collecting Vinyl Records, Painting, Gardening Favourite Things: Walking my dog, sifting through boxes of old records in a good shop, going to the cinema, drinking Margaritas.
